In certain circumstances, a network failure may cost a considerable amount of money for large businesses. To avoid such events, someone must keep an eye on the network at all times. NetPalpus offers a simple, but effective solution for monitoring small or large networks. Its network discovery feature and the various modes of displaying hosts can make your work easier. Additionally, with the application's alarm system, you will always know if something goes wrong on your network, even if you are not in front of your computer.

You can try NetPalpus free of charge, without encountering any restricted functions, for a limited period of time. The application's installation package is less than one MB, so it should not take more than a minute to have NetPalpus up and running. It is compatible with numerous Windows versions, from Win NT to Win 7 and it does not use too much disk space or RAM.

Unlike other network utilities, NetPalpus provides a user friendly interface, with easy to understand functions. Network computers are displayed in the central region of the window, where you can switch between different view modes, like icons, lists, or detailed lists, just like on a standard explorer window. You can also enable a diagram view mode, which allows you to move the computer icons and connect them to various shapes.

New hosts can be added one by one, but you can also add several hosts in a single run, by scanning an IP range. If you wish to add a single host, it is sufficient to specify its name and IP address on a separate window, on which you can also insert its MAC address and other details. If you decide to scan your network, you can specify a wide IP range or insert several shorter ranges.

Selecting a listed computer will display various details, on the right side of the main window, including the computer's group, health, services and interface components. You can also access a configurations panel for each computer, which presents options for enabling or disabling services or interface components and setting up a series of alarm parameters. Depending on your settings, if a host fails, the application will play a sound of your choice, send you an email notification or run a program.

Pros

NetPalpus provides you with a clear picture of your network. It can monitor remote hosts and it notifies you in various ways if something goes wrong. All configurations can be made without any effort, thanks to the application's user friendly design.

Cons

There are no serious issues to mention. With NetPalpus, you will always know what is happening on your network or if something fails, even if you are not in front of your computer.
